- Here is the response I received from Now"The Pea protein products are from US and Canadian peas- processed in China by a high quality, natural and proprietary production process without solvents. Here is the Processing: Peas are dried to produce pea flour. Then the flour is hydrated in the wet process portion. After starch & fiber separation, the protein is coagulated, purified & carefully dried in a multi-stage spray dryer (low level of denaturation). Max temps are not disclosed by our supplier. Then the product is shipped back to America and analyzed for quality* at NOW advanced in –house analytical lab, before packaging, then random lot sampled afterwards to ensure label claim is met. This quality processing method preserves the protein so it is non-denatured.The Pea protein pesticide residue is undetectable at ppb (parts per billion) levels. All packaging and quality testing is done here in U.S. We test ALL raw materials for heavy metals and adulterants and have been doing this for many years.
